Meria Heller Show Visitors Part Two … Welcome!

March 20, 2010

I will start out by saying to everyone visiting my site, welcome! Please feel free to read the material already posted, as my blog is updated weekly. Of particular interest is my video. You may click here to view it:  Video Book Promo

The purpose of writing a book varies from one person to another. My book, however, was written for a very specific reason, but directed not only to former members of the Watchtower in an effort to help eliminate their Watchtower addiction, but to the world. That said, the question then becomes, why … why does it matter to the world what the Watchtower organization believes or teaches?

During World War ll, there were many lives taken by Hitler. I don’t mean on the battlefield;  I’m referring to the trains that carried millions of innocent Jewish families to their final destination in life.  I wonder … if they had been forewarned, would the history books have told a different story?

Jonestown was another sad day in which many lives were taken unnecessarily.  Heaven’s Gate, too, was another cult that preyed on the innocent.  If they only knew how they were being controlled.

So why does it matter to the world what the Watchtower organization believes or teaches?

I wrote my book in hopes that it’s informative but profound material would bring public awareness to their teachings (unlike those Jewish families who were not alerted to Hitler’s planned slaughter). This information is directed to both Christians and non-Christians in an attempt to bring transparency to Watchtower theology and to demonstrate how they are able to manipulate and control the minds of their members.

It is my belief that being forewarned is being forearmed.  Millions of lives are in the balance.  You will judge my life’s work, hence the title: The Bible vs The Watchtower … (The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Authority) You Decide …

God Is The Editor of The Watchtower … Court Testimony By Then Vice President, Fred W. Franz

March 7, 2010

2. God is the Editor of the Watchtower Magazine

Second, and directly related to the above claim, the Watchtower asserts that their magazine is edited by God. In the same Moyle vs. Franz case, the Watchtower Vice President, Fred W. Franz, testified under oath regarding the identity of the Watchtower’s editor (at Sections 2596-2597, pages 866-867 of the trial transcript):

Question: Didn’t you state that on October 15, 1931, the Watchtower discontinued the naming of an editorial committee and then Jehovah God became the editor?

Answer: I didn’t say Jehovah God became the editor. It was appreciated that Jehovah God really is the one who is editing the paper, and therefore the naming of an editorial committee was out of place.

Question: At any rate, Jehovah God is now the editor of the paper, is that right?

Answer: He is today the editor of the paper.

Question: How long has He been editor of the paper?

Answer: Since its inception he has been guiding it.

Question: Even before 1931.

Answer: Yes, sir.

Question: Why did you have an editorial committee up to 1931?

Answer: Pastor Russell in his will specified that there should be such an editorial committee, and it was continued down till then.
Question: Did you find that the editorial committee was in conflict with having the journal edited by Jehovah God, is that it?

Answer: No.

Question: Was the policy in opposition to what your conception of an editing by Jehovah God was?

Answer: It was found on occasions that some of these on the editorial committee were preventing the publication of timely and vital, up-to-date truths and thereby hindering the going of those truths to the people of the Lord in His due time.

By the Court:
Question: After that, 1931, who on earth, if anybody, had charge of what went in or did go in the magazine?

Answer: Judge Rutherford.

Question: So he in effect was the earthly editor-in-chief, as he might be called?

Answer: He would be the visible one to take care of that.

By Mr. Bruchhausen [Moyle’s attorney]:
Question: He was working as God’s representative or agent in running this magazine, is that right?

Answer: He was serving in that capacity.

Based on the above, the content of the Watchtower is not only the Word of God, it is also edited by God. As revealed by the testimony of the Watchtower Vice President, God has merely allowed a human to act as His “visible” editor-in-chief.

Informative…Objective…Fair and Accurate, February 22, 2010
Bible vs. Watchtower is an easy-to-read and understand comparison of Watchtower and Biblical teachings.

Before reading this book, I was unaware of Jehovah’s Witness background, and from where they claim authority. The book presents the evidence clearly in a non-judgemental or condemning way. Though Mr. Pendleton is clearly correct in his findings, it is refereshing to become educated on a subject as sensitive as religion…on an objective “let the reader decide” basis.

Very well done…excellent book. Would recommend to anyone needing a “look behind the curtain” at Watchtower teachings and what makes that organization tick.

Is the Watchtower confusing your spirituality?, February 23, 2010

By: The Eureka! Solution “The Gift of Vision” (Laguna Niguel, CA USA) – See all my reviews
As you are following the path of our Spiritual Journey, you are faced with many forks in the road, called religion. You reach a point on that path where you choose to follow a certain religious institution for their seemingly expert witness and interpretation of the word of God.

And how do you decide who that expert witness is?

You seek a well established church that not only talks the talk but also uses the word of God as their anchor.

Thankfully, Cochise Pendleton has laid out a simple and straightforward comparison of the Bible and the Watchtower. Mr. Pendleton’s Cliffs Notes about the Watchtower is a breath of fresh air to all. You are faced with a fork in the road and you can quickly examine the best way and make a decision.

The Eureka! moment occurs and you choose our path.

As an author The Eureka Solution: The Gift of Vision…who myself suggests what paths to take in life, Cochise Pendleton has taking an extraordinary complex institution and reveals it in a manner that is self-explanatory. The detailed references remove all bias and just give you the facts.

I embrace the dedication, passion and most importantly the moral courage of Cochise Pendleton to challenge the Watchtower in public and share his insights that only an Ex Jehovah Witness can experience and understand. Not only did he find Christ for himself, he is reaching out to current Jehovah Witnesses, Ex JW’s and others still seeking their way to better understand the word of God and the forks they will face on that path.

I am looking forward to the next Cliffs Notes that Cochise Pendleton will offer us as a guidepost in our Spiritual Journey.

BETHELITE Endorsement, And More!

February 21, 2010

An endorsement from Carlos Zuniga, 30+ yr.  Watchtower member and former Bethelite!

Provocative and passionate, Cochise Pendleton addresses the urgent question of our time, who should we believe … the Bible or the Watchtower?  He builds a modern and compelling case for God’s truth.  This fascinating book is a must-read for everyone who’s interested in examining the authority of the Watchtower teachings vs. the Bible.

Blessings my brother Cochise and grace to you,
Carlos X. Zuniga. Former Jehovah Witness for 35 years

An Endorsement From Another 30+yr. Watchtower Member!

I really hope your book reaches the masses, because it has totally emancipated my mind and I want it to do the same for others.  Cochise, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this book. I must say that I was very hesitant to read the book because I was so afraid of what would happen to me if I did. Understand that I was conditioned by the organization that reading any material that was not printed by The Watchtower was frowned upon and you were considered an apostate. No opportunity is allowed for critical or intelligent thinking. I am sharing your book with all my former Watchtower friends.

Michael

Another Review …

The method in which Cochise Pendleton presented the various arguments is definitely a high point.  Fairness was given to each subject for both sides, in presenting the Watchtower’s teaching along side the teaching of the Bible on each subject.  The format is very easy to read and key points are made clear without excessive wording. I believe Mr. Pendleton’s work is capable of causing one negatively effected by Watchtower teachings to realize many of their important doctrines do not agree with Scripture.  Inviting the reader to decide for themselves should be a challenge to cause one to see Scripture other than through the eyes of the Watchtower.

One More Review!

Upon reading your book I am impressed with the way in which you approached a subject that is so dear to peoples hearts.
Like politics, religion is a touchy subject and one can be easily turned away or dislocated if they feel threatened when an opposing viewpoint is made. You have come from an educated and caring arena which shows that you have done your homework and have close knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.. Your book does not come off as an attack so much as an explanation, done in a truly Christian way. Kudos to you for breaching such a subject with poise, class, tact and heart. I will be passing this wonderful publication along to friends, family and strangers alike.

Thank you Cochise!

Your brother in Christ,
Dave (San Diego, Ca)

THE WATCHTOWER PURPORTS DIVINE INFLUENCE …

February 15, 2010

The Watchtower purports that their organization operates under divine influence, and that they posses 4 divine powers bestowed upon them from God Himself.  These powers form the premise and backdrop of my book.

Millions of lives are in the balance.  Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Christian church, and the world.  I believe the world needs to know if the claims of the Watchtower are true.  If they are, the world must be informed.  On the other hand, if the Bible has something else to say on this issue, that too needs to become public knowledge, declared and projected throughout the world.

It will be up to you to decide, hence the title of my book: The Bible vs The Watchtower … You Decide
